It’s Show Time!!
First impressions are critical! Look at your home through the “eyes of a buyer”. Any money or time you spend on repairs and clean up will come back to you in a
better selling price. Here are some suggestions:
Inside:
- Inspect your home room by room. Paint if necessary. Clean carpets or drapes if needed.
- Clear unnecessary objects from furniture.
- A clean kitchen is important! This is a critical area of the home. If the kitchen doesn't’t pass, the home will not sell.
- Sparkling bathrooms help sell homes!
- Remove or rearrange some of the furniture. Sparsely furnished rooms appear larger.
- Take down or rearrange pictures or objects on walls. Patch and paint if needed.
- Repair needed items such as doorknobs, faucets, and moldings.
- Lighting cheers up the house. Open the drapes or blinds and leave lights and lamps on, especially during showings.
- Keep the lawn trimmed, edged and watered.
- Check gutters and roof for dry rot. Repair needed shutters, gutters, and downspouts.
- Check the home for painting, especially the front door and trim.
- Go around the perimeter of the home. Clean patios or decks of small items such as planters, flower pots, charcoal BBQ’s, toys, etc.
